Dongjia Fm
Type Locality and Naming
West Henan. The Dongjia Fm was named by Guan Baode et al. in 1980. The typical section is located in the Jiunüdong section (from Huanglianduo village to Dongjia village), Xiatang Town, Lushan County and the reference section is in Guyouling of Changcun village, Yexian County, Henan Province.

Lithology and Thickness
The Dongjia Formation is dominated by sandy conglomerate, clastic rock and argillaceous carbonate rock. With a bed of grayish white, thick-to medium-bedded sandy conglomerate, and the top, a bed of yellow to light red, thick-bedded dolomitic limestone. The Dongjia Formation was subdivided into two parts by Guan Baode et al. (1980). Lower part is dominated by feldspathic quartzose clastic rock, bearing a layer of sandy conglomerate at the base, which was derived from cherty rock at the top of the underlying Huanglianduo Formation. Near the top, it is intercalated with siltstone, shale and glauconitic sandstone. Upper part is pale blue, purplish red, yellowish gray, thin- to medium-bedded pelitic dolomitic limestone. The outcrop thickness varies from 100 to 260 m.

Lower contact
The base disconformably overlies the Huanglianduo Fm
Upper contact
The formation is disconformably overlain by tillite of the Luoquan Fm
Regional extent
The Dongjia Fm is widely distributed: west from Luonan County (Shaanxi Province), northward to Zhongtiao Maintain in Ruicheng County (Shanxi Province), northwest to Zhuyangzhen in Lingbao County, southward to Fangcheng and Queshan counties, and eastward to Lushan and Yexian counties, Henan Province.
